According to the latest EUROSTAT-data available (2003) Niederösterreich ranks among the top-regions concerning low unemployment rates (total unemployment: NÖ: 3.5 %, EU-25: 9.1 %; Austria 4.2 %).
Niederösterreichs' economic growth figures, expressed in gross-value-added, have been quite impressive and have put the region in the top range of the league table of the Austrian provinces: growth of 27.0 % in the period 1995-2003 (compared with 22,3 % for Austria).
